Hello World !

And so it begins...

I am a young Java developer very much in training and always looking for ways to build upon my skills. I own an ever growing library of textbooks which have all been read, well most of them.

Up until now I have spent a lot of my spare time digesting these reference books but ashamedly not doing much practical application. I tended to look at the provided examples, nod in understanding and agree with myself that I could see exactly how the code was working. It wasn't until I attended an interview for a Software Developer and was asked to do a live coding in front of the companies chief technology officer and a senior developer that I realised I really hadn't done enough practical application in my own time. A very frustrating and embarrassing hour later I left with the conviction I had to write code for everything I studied. Thinking up challenges and programming tasks I would tackle and learn from. Which leads me to my first Blog.

I plan to use this blog as a simple way of documenting, developing and posting ideas, hopefully learning from other aspiring coders in my position as well as some veterans if they are willing to offer their experience and expertise. So please get involved with your opinions, questions and ideas and lets get coding!
